A resident of Red Bank was charged with possession of pot and drug paraphernalia, following a motor vehicle stop.

Patrolman Vincent Dellavalle stopped a car driven by Sammy Madbouly, 22, at 11:05 p.m. on Feb. 18, after the officer saw a motor vehicle violation on Madison Avenue.

While Dellavalle was talking with Madbouly, he identified an odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. After investigating, Dellavalle found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Madbouly was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in the Madison Municipal Court.
